Patrick Oladipo Aina gave the warning

during the Matriculation Ceremony held at

the Main

Auditorium of the University for Regular

students admitted in 2011/2012 Academic

Session. Professor Aina declared “The

University is an organisation that

operates by statues, laws and regulations

as laid don by its Senate and Council, which

all including students have to obey".

He therefore, charged the fresh students to

be familiar with the laws of the university,

pay their fees, registration within stipulated

time, attend lectures and shun anti-social

acts such as cultism, examination

malpractices, violence and indulgence in

drugs. Professor Aina was of the view that

students must learn to be tolerant

and be at peace with others while having

respect for life and human dignity. He said

that contravening the University laws

attracts penalty that will uncompromisingly

be administered to quickly dispense justice.

The Vice-Chancellor warmly congratulated

the students for gaining admission into the

Citadel of Learning and that they should

consider their admission a great

opportunity knowing that over one millions

candidates write the JAMB Examination

every year and that only 10% of these

ultimately gained admission saying “many

are called but few are chosen”

At the ceremony, where over 4000

students were matriculated, The University

Registrar, Dr. Omojola Awosusi

administered the oath.
