Rio Ferdinand Celebrates Extra Special Father's Day After Wife's Pregnancy News

The former England player, 41, took to social media with a special tribute to his own father after recently getting the happy news that Rio would be expecting a child with his wife, Kate Ferdinand.(Wapbaze_Copyright)

Taking to his Instagram account, Rio shared a moving message for his father, Julian Ferdinand.(Wapbaze_Copyright)

Rio wrote: "Happy Father’s Day Dad you being there when I’ve needed you, especially most recently means so much to me.(Wapbaze_Copyright)

Rio was married to their mother Rebecca Ellison from 2009 until her tragic death from breast cancer in 2015.(Wapbaze_Copyright)

He eventually found happiness with former The Only Way Is Essex star Kate Wright, who he married last year.(Wapbaze_Copyright)

They revealed they are expecting a child on June 18 this year.

Kate posted on her Instagram account: "The crazy house is about to get a little bit crazier.. every time I watch this it makes me cry, the best reaction Baby Ferdy we are all so excited to meet you."

He captioned the video of the jubilant trio being told: "We got our wish, another Ferdinand en route!!
