Hazard Rejects New Chelsea Contract

Eden Hazard has put Real Madrid and PSG

on red alert after talks with Chelsea over a

new contract stalled.

The Belgium international has been in

negotiations with the west London club

over a new five year deal but, despite Jose

Mourinho insisting in December that the

contract was close to being signed, the

Express are now reporting talks have

broken down.

Hazard currently earns £175,000-a-week

and has two and half years left on his

current contract, but the paper says wants

more than the club’s top earners Diego

Costa and Cesc Fabregas – who both bring

home in excess of £300k a week.

And the Express says Hazard, who signed

for Chelsea from Lille for £32m in 2012, is

looking for something in the region of

£300k which would bring him level with

the likes of Sergio Aguero, Robin van Persie

and Wayne Rooney.

However, it is unclear whether Chelsea

would be prepared to pay that amount as

they are bound by Uefa’s financial fair play

And this could encourage the likes of Real

Madrid and PSG to make a summer move

for the 24-year-old.
