T-Mobile MyTouch 4G And Motorola DEFY Hit It Off In The US

The T-Mobile myTouch 4G (a.k.a. myTouch HD) and the Motorola DEFY are finally available at the T-Mobile stores across the US or online. And while the DEFY already made it to some stores in Europe, the USA is the first country to acquire the myTouch 4G.

A month ago the two handsets surfaced on the T-Mobile US website but back then there was no word on their market launch and prices. Well, here are the answers of all unanswered questions.

Motorola DEFY

The life-proof Motorola DEFY is IP67-certified, meaning it has protection against water, dust, accidental drops and the 3.7" touchclassy screen of WVideo Graphics Array (VGA) resolution is covered with a Gorilla Glass. Underneath you'll find a MOTOBLUR-ed Eclair (there is no word on any Froyo updates yet) served with a 5MP autofocus snapper, an 800Mega Hertz (MHz) CPU, 512Mega Bytes (MB) of Random-Access Memory (RAM) and fine 2GB of storage.

Here, in Europe, the DEFY is priced at 350 euro (without contract) while over at the T-Mobile USA stores it is selling for only 380 US dollars (around 270 euro, without contract). And if you don't mind signing a 2-year contract with T-Mobile you could acquire it for 100 US dollars (or 71 euro).

By the way, there are two color versions of the Motorola DEFY - Black and White/Black, but T-Mobile is offering only the second one.

As for the T-Mobile myTouch 4G, it looks a lot like the QWERTY-fied T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide with one obvious difference. The myTouch 4G lacks a hardware QWERTY keyboard. But its classy screen is larger (3.8" as opposed to the 3.4" one of the myTouch 3G Slide).

On top of that, the myTouch 4G is HSPA+ capable (that's what the "4G" in the smartphone's name stands for), runs the Android 2.2 a.k.a. Froyo and comes in 4 flavors - Black, White, Red and Plum.

The contract-free price of the T-Mobile myTouch 4G is 450 US dollars (320 euro) but it can drop down to 200 US dollars (around 142 euro) if you sign a recent contract with T-Mobile.

Update: T-Mobile USA also just launched the LG Optimus T in black, the T-Mobile Comet and the LG Sentio.
