Today is the day the first Gingerbread-powered smartphone starts shipping fellas. The Google Nexus S is already available for purchases in Best Buy brick-and-mortar locations and online store.

The 4-inch Contour display Android smartphone costs $529 off-contract in the US, while those willing to commit to T-Mobile US can acquire it for a penny under $200. In case you do go the online way and order through Best Buy's web site you also qualify for free shipping for your Google Nexus S.
