The World Health Organisation, on Saturday donated 561 megaphones to Taraba Primary Health Care Development Agency in order to enhance its immunisation social mobilisation capacity.

Dr Wale Famiyesin, the South-West Coordinator of WHO, made the donation in Jalingo.

Famiyesin said WHO was committed to ensuring that communicable and preventable diseases were eradicated or reduced to the barest minimum in Nigeria and across the world.

He explained that the organisation was focusing more on primary health care delivery, particularly immunisation.

He commended Taraba Government for finally establishing the State Primary Health Care Development Agency, adding that it would go a long way to assist in delivering qualitative health care to the people.

Responding, Executive Secretary of PHCDA, Mr Aminu Hassan, commended WHO for its pivotal role in initiating and providing health care delivery systems to millions of people across the world.

Hassan said the megaphones would go a long way in enhancing social mobilization, particularly at the grassroots where there was little access to electronic and print media.
