SDKs For Lumia Imaging And SensorCore Now AvailableBy cheatmaster 11:17 Tue, 20 Jul 2021 Comments
The Imaging and SensorCore software development kits for Nokia Lumia handsets are now available for download.
The Imaging SDK supports Windows Phone 8.1 and 8.0, as well as all Windows 8.1 devices, tablets and desktop computers alike. Since the Imaging SDK is a part of Microsoft's recent Universal Apps philosophy, developers are able to utilize the same code for applications across multiple Windows platforms.
With the Imaging SDK 1.2 software, you'll be able to create animated GIFs with your Windows Phone device. Another recent feature is Local Blending, which will allow you to blend, merge, resize, and reposition images, so you can create some cool remixed pictures.
SensorCore is what Nokia is calling its fitness tracking, which will be available in the Lumia 930, 635, and 630 smartphones. It'll also be coming to the Lumia 1520 and Icon, after the Lumia Cyan software update.
SensorCore will be able to track your and collect data on your movement and running history. It works off the bat with the Bing Health & Fitness application, but the released SDK will hopefully encourage developers to concoct some cool recent ways to utilize the technology. One cool feature of the sensor is that it knows when you're running immediately by working in conjunction with the phone's built-in GPS functionality, so it can automatically track your progress, without you having to start an app.
Another fascinating tidbit about Nokia's SensorCore is that the tech drains a negligible amount of battery from your device, so when it's not working, you won't have to worry about the recent feature taking away your precious juice.
If you're interested in doing some coding for Windows Phone, there are a couple of recent challenges on DVLUP.com that specifically call for SensorCore developers.
