UK and African broadcaster, Christopher Bolarinwa Marquis, has explained the reason behind the concept of his online, TV and radio platform, Unleash the 80s.

According to him, he couldn’t consent to the decline in the quality of music he grew up listening to in Nigeria, as such, he had to introduce this platform where evergreen music are aired.

“The platform is all about understanding and meeting the needs of Africans in the Diaspora and the universal consumer in the language of entertainment. Statistically, we serve a core age from 25-49, a crowd still eager for a decent medium of entertainment, reminiscent of times past, and seeking a shared identity, especially as some modern music now draws to saturation point.

“We plan to begin production of Made- for- TV productions of films in partnership with MNET. The films would celebrate the lives of retro artistes that have contributed immensely to the world of entertainment in Africa, and the world,” he said.
