Asus X002 With 64-bit CPU And LTE Uncovered

Asus has had success with its Zenfone series and a recent edition may have passed through TENAA and GFXBench. Known only as the Asus X002, the phone has a 5" 720p classy screen and a quad-core 64-bit processor.

The phone runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat and is based on a MediaTek MT6732 chipset, which packs for Cortex-A53 cores at 1.5Giga Hertz (GHz) and Mali-T760 GPU. The specs on Random-Access Memory (RAM) differ – GFX says 2GB, TENAA just 1GB, but this is likely a regional variation like the Zenfone A500KL.

Unlike that one, however, the Asus X002 is a single-SIM device (confirmed by both sources) and has LTE connectivity, with up to 150Mbps downlinks (Cat. 4).

The main capturing camera shoots 8MP stills, but there's uncertainty about the video capture – one source says 720p, the other claims 2160p. The chipset officially supports up to 1080p, so that's the likely middle ground. The front capturing camera is a selfie-friendly 5MP.

Anyway, the Asus X002 is 9.9mm thick and weighs 140g. It will come with 8GB of built-in storage, plus room for up to 32GB more with a microSD card.
