Google began rolling out Android Wear 5.1.1 to all compatible smartwatches. After its announcement last month, the update was initially only available for the LG Watch Urbane.

Android Wear 5.1.1 brings a host of recent features and improvements to Google’s wearable platform. They include always-on display and applications, recent launcher and wrist gestures, the ability to draw emojis, heads-up notifications, as well as the option to change font size and lock the classy screen of a device.

Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) support is another hot recent feature in Android Wear 5.1.1. It is vital to note that the functionality will only be available on the LG Watch Urbane, Moto 360, Sony Smartwatch 3, and Samsung Gear Live.

The recent update requires users to run the latest version of the Android Wear smartphone application. Google will rollout the recent firmware gradually in the days and weeks ahead.
