Sony Teases New Xperia For August 3

The Sony Xperia C5 Ultra, which was originally known as Lavender, might be arriving in just a few days. Sony has started the teasing game on a brand recent Xperia device and what better candidate for an August 3 announcement could there be, other than the oft-leaked, bezelless phablet with a rather unfortunate recent history?

Sony's ambiguous single-line teaser on Twitter points to some serious imaging prowess, though not quite in the area of expertise of the Xperia C4 and C3. From what we've seen until now the C5 Ultra will come with a front flash like its brethren, but apparently it may also be capable of extremely quick focusing (phase detection, maybe?), if we're decoding the message right.

It could also excel at macro photography, but that doesn't sound exciting enough to warrant an entire tweet, all by itself.

For all we know, the Xperia C5 Ultra will pack an edge-to-edge FullHD display, 5.5-inches or larger, and will run on the Mediatek MT6752 chipset, coupled with 2GB of RAM. There will be a 13MP primary camera, and the one on the front will either be 5MP or 13MP, depending on who you ask.

It's only a tiny amount of patience we need to muster until August 3, when the announcement is scheduled for, but then again Sony might surprise us and reveal something entirely different.
