Sony is bringing the much requested Remote Play functionality to your desktop computer. Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony's Worldwide Studios for Sony Computer Entertainment Inc., assumed on Twitter that the company plans to bring the functionality to the Personal Computer (PC) and Mac and that it is working on an official application.

The Remote Play functionality on the PlayStation 4 allows you to play PS4 games by streaming them to your PS Vita, PlayStation TV or select Xperia devices. But people have been asking to be able to play their PS4 games on the Personal Computer (PC) or Mac by streaming it over a local connection. With the release of the Remote Play app on the desktop, you will be able to do just that, so you no longer have to wait for the TV be available for you to play and can just start your computer and play on that instead.

Sony did not reveal any dates as to when this app will be released.
