Xiaomi Mi 5 Is Portrayed In A New Set Of Leaked Renders, Specs Outed TooBy cheatmaster 11:48 Thu, 29 Jul 2021 Comments
A couple of newly leaked renders out of China claim to portray the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 5. These are assumed to be unofficial, but based on the design of the real thing - which was briefly used by the creator of the pictures.
As you can see, the image of the front of the device shows an incredibly small Home button - which is there in order to houtilize a fingerprint scanner.
According to the source of the pictures, the Mi 5 will in fact sport the world's smallest such sensor, and also the fastest. The rest of the design is unmistakably Xiaomi. And as the render to the correct can attest, we're going to be treated to a metal frame for the Mi 5. On the front we can discern 2.5D glass on top of the display panel, while the back is assumed to feature even more curved "3D" glass. The smartphone will have a Universal Serial Bus (USB) Type-C port.
One vital thing to note is that the product depicted in these shots looks nothing like the one in the previous leak supposedly showing the Mi 5 (or the one before that). So clearly one of the leaks is wrong, there's just no telling which one at this point.
The Mi 5 will allegedly be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 chipset, which is something that's been claimed in many previous rumors about the device. The handset is apparently going to feature a 5.2-inch touchclassy screen with 1080p or QHD resolution, a 16 MegaPixel (MP) rear camera, a 13 MegaPixel (MP) selfie snapper, dual-SIM functionality, and a 3,600 mAh battery. It will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow underneath MIUI 7.
It will be offered in two versions. If you choose 3GB of Random-Access Memory (RAM) and 32GB of storage, you'll need to pay CNY 1,999 ($308 or €283 at the current exchange rates). If, on the other hand, you go for 4GB of Random-Access Memory (RAM) paired with 64GB of storage, the price rises to CNY 2,299 ($354, €326).
