Week 12 In Review: IPhone SE, IPad Pro, HTC 10

Another week flew by and we once again and it had no shortage of exciting mobile news to offer. Apple held its scheduled event and, as expected, outed a pair of recent devices, both highly intriguing. The iPhone SE is a reboot of the 4-inch form factor, which isn't enjoying universal appeal in 2016, but other than that, the pocked-friendly phone seems to have checked all many boxes, offering an up to date platform and camera. It will fill in for the now discontinued iPhone 5s.

As for the recent iPad Pro, the exact title match with its 12.9-inch sibling seems to be the least of its problems. After the initial smoke cleared, people started poking at the 9.7-inch iOS device and its lofty intentions of serving as a Personal Computer (PC) replacement. A few major holes surface afterwards, like the fact that the smaller tablet seems to have an underclocked A9X chip, as well as half the amount of Random-Access Memory (RAM) of its bigger brother.

In other news, the Samsung Galaxy S7 still seems to be on everybody's minds. Both the flat model and its edged sibling are winning awards and ramping up orders like crazy. And now that the first units are already in customer hands, we also have a better concept of how the two processor variants measure up against each other. Also, some recent leaks recommdiscontinue a Galaxy S7 active handset is coming shortly as well and we can't wait to see whether it will offer a major upgrade over its siblings.

Last, but not least, HTC might have skipped the MWC festivities, but it is now preparing for a flagship release as well. The HTC 10 has been popping up all over the place in various leaks and rumors and it is shaping up to be quite an impressive device, hopefully capable of setting the company on a much needed revival course.
