Google Fiber is Google’s Gigabit internet service in the US that has slowly been expanding in markets all over the country. Fiber offers internet, cable TV, and home phone service with select markets and recent markets being added and considered as recent Fiber markets.
Becautilize the provider is Google, a large provider of internet content, it thought that all Fiber boxes should be equipped with Chromecast features so customers don’t need to leave their Fiber experience to watch a YouTube video or to play a song on Spotify. Google says the feature is currently being rolled out to Fiber customers and no further setup will be required.
Customers just have to connect a device to their Fiber network and tap on the cast button. Then customers will be able to access everything a Chromecast can in addition to the extensive lineup of live TV channels and vast selection of On-Demand TV shows and movies.
Currently, Google Fiber is only offered in Atlanta, GA, Austin TX, Kansas City, MO, Kansas City, KS, Nashville, TN, and Provo, UT. Fiber will expand to Charlotte, NC, Huntsville, AL, Raleigh-Durham, NC, Salt Lake City, UT, San Antonio, TX, and of course, the gigantic city just about 45 minutes away from Google’s Headquarters: San Francisco.
Cities being considered for Fiber include, Chicago, IL, Irvine, CA, Los Angeles, CA, Lousville, KY, Oklahoma City, OK, Phoenix, AZ, Portland, OR, San Diego, CA, San Jose, CA, and Tampa, FL.
