The Oppo A59 just went official in China with sales commencing on June 18.

The phone sports a 5.5" IPS display of HD resolution resulting in a pixel density of 267ppi. Under the hood, there's a MediaTek MT6570 chipset with a 1.5Giga Hertz (GHz) octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU, Mali-T860 GPU and 3GB of RAM.

Users have 32GB of built-in storage to play with, but there's also a microSD card slot for further expansion. The phone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop, which is quite dated now, but is enhanced by the company's ColorOS 3.0 UI skin.

At the back, there's a 13MP camera, which records 1080p video. It's teamed up with a 5MP front-facing selfie camera. The battery is sealed in the phone's metal unibody and its power is 3,075mAh.

As you'd probably figured out by now, a battery with this size means the phone is quite thin. Indeed, at 7.3mm, it's not thick and the weight is a tolerable 160 grams.

In terms of connectivity, there's everything you'd want. You acquire Bluetooth 4.1, dual-band Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) 802.11 a/b/g/n, Frequency Modulation (FM) Radio, and a microUniversal Serial Bus (USB) port (OTG ready) and a 3.5mm audio jack on the bottom.

The phone costs $274 (RMega Bytes (MB) 1799) and comes in grecent and rose grecent color options.
