IPhone 7 Will Be Very Similar To 6s, New Report Claims; Headset Jack Again Said To DisappearBy cheatmaster 12:33 Tue, 03 Aug 2021 Comments
We've heard a lot of rumors about the upcoming iPhone 7 duo lately, and today there's a recent one out. Unlike most, however, this comes from a usually trustworthy source, namely the Wall Street Journal.
The publication cites "people familiar with the matter" saying the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will not be very different compared to their predecessors, the iPhone 6s (pictured below) and 6s Plus from last year. This means Apple will break its self-imposed tradition of coming out with gigantic revamps of its flagship once every two years.
The 6s duo have already been one rehash of the design first presented in 2014 with the iPhone 6, and it appears that the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will mostly see the same. No gigantic changes are expected. In fact the most vital recent 'feature' of the recent phones will be the much talked about removal of the 3.5mm headset jack.
This rumor confirms that go once more, even if just yesterday another report assumed the analog jack would stay. The removal of the plug will apparently create it easier for Apple to create its 2016 devices water resistant, and also thinner (possibly by 1mm compared to the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus). They will haged the 4.7" and 5.5" classy screen sizes from previous models.
If you're looking for gigantic changes in the iPhone lineup, then you'll need to wait another year. For the ten-year anniversary models launching in 2017, Apple is working on many recent things, including giving them edge-to-edge AMOrganic Light-Emitting Diode (OLED) displays (which may even be curved), and eliminating the Home button by integrating its fingerprint scanner into the classy screen itself.
All of this recent technology takes time to implement, which is why you won't see any of these things in the iPhone 7 unfortunately. Hopefully they will come in next year's handsets, though it's still early and things could change.
