T-Mobile Sends Out July Security Patch To Galaxy Note 4 And Note Edge

Google has just announced the August security update for Android, but some device makers and carriers still haven't finalized the rollout of the July update to their products. Case in point: only today has T-Mobile started sending out the July update to the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Note Edge units it's sold.

After you apply the update, you'll be on the July 1 security patch level. For the Galaxy Note 4, your software version will be bumped up to either N910TUVU2EPG2 (a 309.9Mega Bytes (MB) download) or N910T3UVU2EPG2 (coming in at 281.27MB), depending on which exact model you have. For the Galaxy Note Edge, the recent software is version N915TUVU2DPG2 which requires a 328Mega Bytes (MB) download to install.

People are already getting update notifications for these, so if you own a Note 4 or Note Edge purchased from T-Mobile you should too pretty soon, if you haven't already. Of course the completion of the rollout to all devices out there will hold at least a few days, so if you simply can't wait go to Settings > System > About device and try to manually acquire the recent release.
