Dry cleaners calls customer an asshole on his receiptBy mili3kid 02:15 Sat, 29 Dec 2012 Comments
Pay careful attention to your name written onthe store receipt.
Alex DelSordo, 26, will not allow a rude name on his receipt from going back to the dry cleaners and tailors in Virginia.
DelSordo, who works in advertising sales, hasnever had any problems with the company, who asked to remain anonymous, as a customer for the past two years. But earlier this month, two days after he left some clothing for dry cleaning with a male employee, he realized that the receipt indicated his name was written, as "Asshole, Alex."
"I was blown away," he said. "It showed a real lack of respect," Alex DelSordo said.
He thought the name calling may have arisen from an incident earlier this year when he had asked the company to fix parts of an outfit for a wedding, but had forgotten to change the sleeves. When a lawsuit was filed against the company after the wedding, the company completed the request.
DelSordo went to the company and asked to speak with the owner, who is not a native English speaker and said he did not realize the last name written was derogatory.
He grew up watching his parents' restaurant, and realizes that this could cause problems for one of the employees. DelSordo said he was not trying to get anyone fired.
The owner apologized and gave him the dry cleaning for free.
"I'll probably go back," DelSordo said, adding that he found the incident humorous. "They do the job very well."
